ABOUT

4ANKLAN

The beginning

4ANKLAN is a creative collective consisting of artists Docker and Kokichan, who in 2020 joined forces to create unique photorealistic miniatures and limited edition vinyl toys. Inspired by the Bulgarian tradition of kukeri, they refract these images through their artistic vision and turn them into unique figurines with a height of about 12 cm and a weight of 250 grams. These figurines are available both in white, which can be colored as desired, and already colored by the authors themselves or guest artists. The name of the collective - 4ANKLAN - was inspired by the Kuker bells called "chans".

Projects

4ANKLAN are known for two main projects - "Vandalism?" and Color in the Mud.

"Vandalism?"

The project "Vandalism?" is a model of a building on a scale of 1:50. The idea behind this project is to show that street art and graffiti are not just scribbling on the walls and vandalism, but can be something beautiful and colorful that enlivens the gray urban environment. The building was invented by the artists without using references and decorated with graffiti that shows respect to many of the graffiti artists in Bulgaria. The project features exceptional attention to detail, making it impressive and realistic.

Color in the Mud

4ANKLAN's second project, "Color in the Mud", depicts a composition of cargo containers painted with graffiti, under which caravans and other vehicles are placed. Although the scene looks neglected and dirty, it is extremely colorful and pleasing to the eye. The project also highlights the beauty of street art and its importance in the contemporary urban landscape. Color in the Mud is also 1:50 scale and features incredible attention to detail that creates a sense of reality. Both projects participate in several exhibitions in Bulgaria and are highly appreciated for their originality and performance.

For the artists

Kokichan was born in Sliven and graduated from the "Dimitar Dobrovich" National Art High School with a major in Advertising Graphics. He later graduated from the National Academy of Arts with a major in Poster and Visual Communication. Docker, for his part, was born in Chirpan and also graduated from the Dimitar Dobrovich National Art High School, but majored in icon painting. After that, he graduated from NATFIZ with a degree in Stage and Screen Design. After completing their education, the two artists began working in the film industry as artists, creating props and sets for many world-famous productions such as Rambo, The Invincibles, Kung Fury and others.

Current and future projects

The artists continue to work hard on their new projects and the realization of many new ideas. 4ANKLAN are true innovators in the world of photorealistic miniatures and street art, such as their projects "Vandalism?" and "Color in the Mud" are examples of how art can transform and enrich the urban environment. Through their detailed and creative works, Docker and Kokichan manage to convey their message of beauty and color in the gray everyday life, inspiring both their admirers and future artists.
